About Us
Southwest CNC Automation LLC is a machining business located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. We have a strong background in fields requiring high quality CNC machined hardware. Some of those industries include aerospace/satellites, oil and gas instrumentation, water treatment systems, semiconductor robotic processing systems, space robotic systems, high energy physics research facilities, high vacuum systems, optical systems and many others. The principle founder of SWCNCA has extensive experience in the designing and machining of high precision, high energy nuclear diagnositc systems for Sandia National Labs and Los Alamos National Labs for the Fusion program with the US Department of Energy. Such systems include pulsed power sources, time resolved X-ray pinhole cameras, time resolved elliptical crystal spectrometers, laser optic systems, calorimeters, neutron detectors and high vacuum systems.

OUR CAPABILITIES
Our unique combination of knowledge and experience enables various processes or approaches that best fits your specific R&D efforts. Our equipment includes 4 CNC vertical milling centers ranging in size from 20"x 20" travels up to 26"x 40" as well as 4th axis capability. We also have CNC turning, wire EDM, and heat treatment and grinding capabilities. We work with several aerospace qualified plating shops to provide all types of metal plating and aluminum coatings such as alodine and anodizing to provide finished parts that require those processes. We machine all metals including tungsten, titanium, nickel alloys, copper, as well as aluminum, just to name a few. We also do CNC grinding of ceramics and glass such as Zerodur, Pyrex, quartz, alumina and Macor. Our services also include work in plastics like CPVC, Teflon, acrylic, PEEK and Ultem.
